My View: Craft Room Post Irene

Hurricane Irene has come and gone leaving us with fresh clean air and sunny slightly Autumnal days. For many in the NY Metro area where I live it has also left behind power outages, flooding, and downed trees. While lucky the damage wasn't worse, I had several water leaks through my ceiling of my top floor apartment. Below is what my beloved craft room looks like today.

Blog posts may be spotty this week as I clean up the damage and put my apartment back together. At least I can still do some knitting in front of the TV to calm my nerves!

On My Wish List: Prada Mary Jane Boots

I'm in love with the Mary Jane color blocked boots from the Fall 2011 Prada collection. I've always been and still am a big fan of Mary Janes an ankle straps so these boots are (if money were no object) a no brainer for me!

Mid-week Inspiration: Anna Karina

Anna Karina has been an inspiration of mine for a very long time. The Danish actress gained fame in the 1960s starring in several French New Wave films. Her brunette bangs and cat lined eyes is a look I have always fallen back on over the years. Growing up a skinny awkward brunette, when I discovered the French New Wave as a teen I was in heaven. Anna's art house look seemed way more achievable to me then the Bardot's and other blonde icons of her time and mine, who's looks I love but could never emulate. Here are some lovely pictures of Anna Karina to get you through the mid-week!

My Vintage Vanity: Lipstick Holders

I love these vintage brass filagree lipstick holders for my vanity. Unfortunately most do not hold modern day sized lipstick tubes. I was able to find the beauty with the mirrored tray that does!

Found in St. Louis for $12. I love the mirrored tray!

I bought this one on Etsy. Besame tubes fit quite nicely.

My View: New Craft Room!

I have moved in my new apartment! Since I took a break from Bobbins And Bombshells to move and settle in to my new place, I only see it fitting that my first post is pics of my new craft room. Surely the highlight of my new place!!
