Mid-Week Inspiration: Iconic Bond Girls

James Bond just celebrated his 50th year in the movies. While I haven't seen them all, I am a big fan of Bond flicks. In celebration my inspiration this week is iconic Bond Girls, because, well, who wouldn't want to be one?

For this post, I gave myself the task of choosing 5, and ended up with 6. That means that I had to leave out several, several amazing ladies. But anyway.. here we go!

1. Honey Ryder played by Ursula Andress in Dr. No (1962). She set the standard.

2. Sylvia Trench played by Eunice Gayson in From Russia with Love (1963) and Dr. No (1962)
.
3. Pussy Galore played byHonor Blackman in Goldfinger (1964)- The most classic Bond Girl name.

4. Jill Masterson played by Shirley Eaton in Goldfinger (1964). Classic Bond scene with the gold paint.

5. Jinx played by Halle Berry in Die Another Day (2002). She brought back the classic look. Honey Ryder would be proud.

6. Severine played by Berenice Marlohe in Skyfall (2012). I couldn't help but include her. I think she will become one of the legends.

Which Bond Girl is your favorite? Who would be your top 5 (or 6?)

My Projects: Crochet Fingerless Gloves in New Colors!

I've recently finished and listed in my Etsy shop some more crocheted fingerless gloves with tipping and bows. These are a lovely spruce green heather Donegal tweed with black contrast. This tweed is wonderful and much richer in person!

A pretty soft ballet pink is paired with black in this pima cotton pair. So soft and ready for the transition into spring!

What color combinations would you enjoy?

Be sure to check out my Etsy shop; The Sparkling Cocktail for more of my handmade items and more of these gloves in other colors!

Retro Looks In The Modern World: Pink Motel Chic

As much as the modern fashion world looks forward it also continually looks back in time. Here we explore Retro Looks in the Modern World.

The 1950's Pink Motel is the setting for the Spring 2013 campaign for the Beyman Collection. This kind of setting never gets old for me and I love that car!

Style Icon: Ava Gardner

Ava Gardner, most known for her role in The Killers (1946) was one of MGM's most beautiful stars. Not only was she gorgeous, she was stylish as well. She could range from swim suit pin-up to femme fatale to girl next door. It was not easy to narrow down photos for this post.

Stunning pin-up looks.

I want those sunglasses!

Classic!

So stylish!

Ava Gardner (1922-1990) lived a tremendous life from a childhood in the rural South to becoming on of the Hollywood greats. She starred in such films as The Killers, Mogambo, The Barefoot Contessa, and The Snows of Kilimanjaro to name a few. She was married and divorced three times, Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw, and the love of her life Frank Sinatra. She also had relationships with Ernest Hemingway and Spanish bullfighter, Luis Manuel Dominguin. She died in her London home from pneumonia at the age of 67.
