Retro Looks In The Modern World: Runway Recap

As much as the modern fashion world looks forward it also continually looks back in time. Here is a recap round-up of the best retro looks from the recent Fall/Winter 2010 RTW runways from NY, London, Milan and Paris.

In Paris, Rochas showed 60/70's looks complete with A-line dresses, large pointy collars and MOD Beatle boots.
In London, Roksanda Ilincic presented gorgeous 70's inspired drapey and chic silk charmeuse.

In Milan, Prada strutted cat eye glasses and 50/60's Mad Men looks down the runway.

And in New York, Bibhu Mohapatra gave us retro 30/40's glam. This collection was so beautiful I have included two photos.

Mid-Week Inspiration: Roksanda Ilincic

London's avant garde dressmaker, Roksanda Ilincic, captured my heart with these layered pieces from her Spring '09 collection. I love the black chiffon over the soft pale charmeuses.
The meant to be un-precise draping is right on. It's very modern day Jean Harlow and it's this week's inspiration.
