Fashionable History: Irving Penn

Last Wednesday, famed fashion photographer, Irving Penn died at the age of 92. Be sure to read the The New York Times wonderful obit. on the legend. Here are a few of his early fashion photographs from the 50's. Elegant and classy.

Roses at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden





Flowers are such an inspiration. I became a member of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden yesterday! It's so peaceful there and such a great place for a work-a-holic city girl like myself to unwind and focus. The roses are currently in bloom and above are some of my photos from yesterday's visit. Enjoy!

Mid-Week Inspiration: Marilyn Monroe

A collection of 36 photos of Marilyn Monroe sold at a Christies New York auction yesterday for nearly $150,000! They were shot by Bert Stern for American Vogue in 1962. They are believed to be the last professional pictures taken of Marilyn before her death six weeks later. This photo is hauntingly beautiful.
