My Vintage Vanity: Stash My Destash

I've been reorganizing my limited storage space lately. I have some great vintage crochet trims and fabrics that I am now starting to list in my Etsy shop; The Sparkling Cocktail. Hopefully you all can make beautiful things out of it and I can clear some space! The new section of the shop is called Stash My Destash, so please do!

Here are some wonderful 1940's crochet items currently up for grabs:

My Vintage Vanity: My Grandmother's Bedroom Set

Last week I showed you my wonderful vintage vanity and stool. The vanity was once part of my Grandmother's bedroom set. Below is the rest of the set. I love the bias wood grain. While the set is rather simple, that wood grain and inlay is what sets it apart from modern furniture.

The wardrobe. It's not that tall compared with modern wardrobes. My Grandmother was hardly 5' tall. I'm 5'10". Times have changed.

Once again I have doilies protecting the top and more vintage satin glove boxes! Vintage fans, a Jonathan Adler Christmas ornament and a beloved photo of my Grandparents on their honeymoon on top of the Empire State Building decorate the top.

This is the dresser. I love the large round mirror!

Another doily, stained glass lamp and my glow in the dark Virgin Mary are on display. Also a photo of me and my hubby!

My Vintage Vanity: My Vanity

I was going to do this post solely on my new vintage vanity stool I scored on my recent visit to North Carolina. I bought it for $20 and it is exactly what I've been looking for. It fit nicely in the luggage compartment on the Amtrak train home. My husband carried it back to Brooklyn from Penn Station for me. I might re-upholster it but for now the pale pink is nice.
What do you think?

But then I thought, why not showcase my whole vanity. It is in fact vintage from the Deco period and belonged to my Grandmother. Here it is above. Stay tuned for next week and I will show you the entire  bedroom set.

I also have lot's of vintage goodies on the vanity. You may remember my vintage lipstick holders, there they are. I also have a lovely vintage milk glass lamp I purchased on Etsy. And oh yes! I did get the Estee Lauder Mad Men Creme Blush! I love it!

Here are my perfumes and jewelry boxes. The doily runner my Grandmother made, I have a bunch of them!

Do you remember my post about my quilted satin glove box collection? Here they are storing all sorts of things from necklaces, scarves, bracelets, and gloves!

Mid-Week Inspiration: Crochet and Doily Lampshades

I love the delicate look of these lampshades and the shadows they reflect. I would love to incorporate this look in my home.
