My View: Jazz Age Lawn Party- 2012

Every year, Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra take over Governor's Island, here in New York City, and host a Jazz Age Lawn Party! I went this past weekend and had a great time pic-nicking, listening to great music and most of all people watching. Here I am in my 1930's red and green print dress, that I absolutely adore.

St. Germain was the delicious sponsor.

The Jazz Age Lawn Party was a blast! Governors Island is so beautiful and it was so relaxing to be in the sun, listen to great music from Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra, and see all of the great 1920's looks on parade! You may have seen my post about attending the Dreamland Gala a couple of weeks ago. That was a fundraiser for this weekend's lawn party which I wish could be an oncurring event instead of only once a year. So if you missed it, be sure to attend next year. I'll keep you posted!
I've posted some of my favorite photos here. To see more shots of the Jazz Age Lawn Party and Governors Island visit my flickr site!

Dreamland Gala

Last night I attended the Dreamland Gala, a fundraiser for the 2009 Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island. The event was a blast with live music from Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, open bar from Court & Spark, a silent auction, and the crowd dressed in their best Roaring 20's looks! Here are some pics I'd like to share.

The coolest car.

Michael Arenella and his megaphone.

My outfit shot. I wore a peach charmeuse mini dress with lace pin-tucked bib from my former clothing label, Ouvrez La Porte. A vintage velvet cutout robe. Fogal back seamed hosiery that did not survive the night. Tassel necklace that once belonged to my Grandmother. My At The Speakeasy feather headband. A vintage black beaded raffia clutch. And black satin shoes with rhinestones from Nina.

I always wanted to be a cigarette girl, or in this case chocolate girl!

I love spats!

Lingerie for decor.
