On My Wish List: Marni Woven Handbags

I am lusting after these woven handbags from Marni's Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Woven raffia and patent leather are trimmed with leather and accented with metal hardware. Perfect for your retro looks this Spring!

I love this ombre patent leather Vernice Bowler.

And if that wasn't enough, here it is in leopard!

My Vintage Vanity: Blue Floral Purse

I recently picked up this pretty Mid-Century shoulder bag at Foyer in Brooklyn. It has a creamy linen with blue floral, of course covered in plastic! With a plastic chain shoulder strap and a bakelite top clasp!

I love the floral print!

What do you think? Do you have anything similar?

On My Wish List: Prada Spring 2012 Hot Rod Accessories

Oh Prada, you are always On My Wish List and never in my closet!

I've already raved about the wonderfully retro inspired Prada Spring 2012 collection and ad campaign. I love everything about it. However, the details of the handbags and shoes in that campaign are difficult to see. Here's a closer look at the 50's hot rod inspired shoes and handbags Prada has to offer this Spring. I want them all!

Mid-Week Inspiration: The Lady Noire

Last week I presented the Chanel mini-film Train de Nuit. This week's inspiration is Dior's The Lady Noire, (chapter 1; The Lady Noire Affaire). Just under 7 minutes, this film/advert takes us back to the film noir days of the 40's with intriguing music, dark shadows, and a confusing plot. The stunning actress Marion Cotillard is reunited with director Olivier Dahan, both from La Vie en Rose fame. Cleverly this film shows us the wonderful Christian Dior accessories in her Lady Dior bag and my favorite, her shoes. Want more? Go to the Lady Dior site for behind the scenes footage and the making of the bag!
