Alber Elbaz is always a genious but his Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection for Lanvin has me weak in the knees. This collection is for a modern day femme fatale straight out of a film noir. Even the runway looked like a wet sidewalk. I love the draping and folds on a simple sheath silhouette paired with gloves and pumps. I am also inspired to make more feather headbands!
Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2009 RTW collection was a lot of fun and showed a lot of retro 40's and 50's inspired pieces. Some quite literal like the 50's style prom gown with Marilyn Monroe's image silkscreened all over the poufy skirt. And other's with a twist that would make Elsa Schiaparelli proud, like the gloves used as scarves and belts. My favorite is the top picture! Glam!
Moschino never let's me down. The Fall 2009 RTW collection has my heart a flutter. The retro inspired looks are flattering and feminine. I love the rolled bangs, patterned tights, and Mary Jane shoes. Pictured above are my favorite looks. Delicious!
One of my favorite collections from London fashion week was from Erdem Moralioglu. The beautiful large floral print paired with black in a long 1940's gown style and the poufy mini dresses with black lace overlays on red duchess satin got me swooning. He is heralded as the Christian LaCroix of London, and it's obvious why. 
I absolutely loved the Doo.Ri Fall 2009 Collection shown last week at New York's Fashion Week. What especially stood out were the crystal encrusted lace stockings. In continuing with my apparent stocking themed week I am inspired to bedazzle some of my own lacey tights with sequins and paillettes!
With so many images from the NY Fashion Week to pour over, I simply can't wait until next Wednesday to post another Mid-Week Inspiration. I am having 50 heart attacks over the PHI Fall 2009 Collection as I was over their Fall 2008 Collection. But this time they have taken it to a whole other level. There were too many pics I had chosen as my favorites to post, so please check out the complete collection. I seriously need all of these items shown here. I especially love the short sleeve jackets and sweaters worn with long opera length leather gloves. I am completely inspired to rock that look this fall with my vintage gloves. I will have to search for more. In the meantime, I will be saving up for those hot lace up velvet leggings, the silver sequin bomber jacket mini skirt, and that black sequin dress.
